This Safe Rider Agreement (the “Agreement”) is made between Safe Rider (the “Organization”) and the undersigned participant (the “Rider”). By joining, the Rider acknowledges and agrees to abide by the principles of safe and responsible motorcycle operation.
1. Commitment to Safe Riding The Rider agrees to:
- Always operate a motorcycle in a safe, responsible, and legal manner.
- Wear appropriate safety gear, including a DOT-approved helmet, protective clothing, gloves, and footwear.
- Follow all traffic laws, signals, and road regulations.
- Ride sober and never operate a motorcycle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substances.
- Maintain a defensive riding approach, being aware of surrounding traffic and road conditions.
- Keep their motorcycle in proper working condition by performing regular maintenance and safety checks.
- Continue to improve their riding skills by engaging in training, education, and practice.
2. Respect for Fellow Riders and the Community The Rider agrees to:
- Show respect and courtesy to other riders, motorists, pedestrians, and law enforcement.
- Refrain from reckless riding, excessive speed, or any behavior that endangers themselves or others.
- Promote a positive image of motorcyclists within the community.
3. Acknowledgment of Risks The Rider acknowledges that:
- Motorcycling carries inherent risks, and while Safe Rider promotes safety, the Organization cannot guarantee the Rider’s protection from accidents or injuries.
- Participation in Safe Rider programs, events, and activities is voluntary, and the Rider assumes all risks associated with motorcycle riding.
- The Organization is not responsible for personal injury, loss, or damage to property arising from participation in Safe Rider activities.
4. Indemnification and Waiver The Rider agrees to:
- Hold harmless and release Safe Rider, its officers, members, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses resulting from their participation.
- Take full responsibility for their own actions and safety while riding.
5. Agreement Term and Termination This Agreement remains in effect for as long as the Rider is a participant in Safe Rider. The Organization reserves the right to revoke participation if the Rider is found to be in violation of safe riding practices or engages in reckless behavior.
